Starting on the 28th of this month, popular group Arashi will take over Tokyo Metro・Omodesando Station. Posters have been placed inside the station to promote their spring drama special, Saigo no Yakusoku (The Last Promise) airing on Fuji TV January 9th, 2010 at 9:00 pm. Posters are 2.5 meters long by 2.5 meters wide and are wrapped around pillars inside the station.

The suspense drama will follow the lives of five people who happen to be trapped inside a building during a takeover situation.

Johnny's pop group TOKIO have announced the release of a new single, called advance / Mata asa ga kuru, for February 3rd.

advance / Mata asa ga kuru, as with the group's latest singles, will be released in three different versions. Two of these will be limited editions, both featuring a DVD in addition to the CD. One will include the PV of advance and the other will include the video of Mata asa ga kuru.

The last edition, which is CD-only, will have two additional songs: CRY FOR THE MOON and Period. The instrumental counterparts of advance, Mata asa ga kuru and CRY FOR THE MOON will also be included in the disc.

Former Morning Musume singer Rika Ishikawa, 24, has released a new photo book called “24 Twenty Four,” which sees the young entertainer in bed, in a bikini on an Okinawan beach, and prancing around the streets of Yokohama.

Ishikawa released her first photo book when she was 16, and this latest collection of artistic shots forms her 10th publication. Two photographers captured Ishikawa in various poses as she went about her business over the course of 24 hours.

“24 Twenty Four” is on sale now for 2,940 yen. She will also appear in TV Tokyo’s “Inaka ni tomaro!” program special at 6 p.m. on Jan 3.

A longer “special preview” has been released for the upcoming action-thriller Sworn Brothers (which is the Korean title, 의형제), also called The Secret Reunion, which comes from director Jang Hoon, who also directed the So Ji-sub–Kang Ji-hwan action film Rough Cut (aka A Movie Is a Movie).

The film stars Song Kang-ho and Kang Dong-won as two enemies (the former’s a South Korean secret agent, the latter a North Korean one) who “risk their lives on one last choice.”

Six years ago, Song’s character had vowed to capture Kang and saw the agent as he slipped away from a violent scene that unfolded in a busy city street. Following his failure to apprehend the spy, Song is dismissed from his post. Kang, meanwhile, is betrayed and abandoned by his own country. Now, six years later, Song has set up his own investigative agency, and happens upon a face-to-face encounter with Kang. Both recognize each other, but pretend not to. (In one line in the previews, Song asks Kang, “Would you be interested in working with me?”)

Sworn Brothers / Secret Reunion will release on February 4, 2010.

It appears that Park Myung Soo hasn’t gotten tired of singing about noodles as he plans to sing about udon when he comes back as a singer early next year. And this time, Park Myung Soo has apparently enlisted the help of none other than Ga-In of Brown Eyed Girls.

An insider working closely with Park Myung Soo stated: “In his new album, Park Myung Soo decided to include the song ‘Udon,’ since ‘Naeng Myun’ with SNSD’s Jessica became an instant hit… We are currently in the process of producing the song and right now and Ga-In is the one we have reached out to to sing the female part.”

In case you want to watch Park Myung Soo and Jessica sing about the glories of Naeng Myun one more time, the fantastic duo will be performing the song at the 2009 MBC Entertainment Awards (연예대상), which will air on December 29th.

Children of Empire (yes that's their name) will be releasing their MV teaser on Jan 5th so get to know more about the members before their long awaited debut. Some people expressed interest in learning more about them so I compiled together information and pictures from various sources into a helpful guide below.

But first, I'd like to clear up the FALSE claim made by allkpop that they changed their name to ZE:A. According to their international forum (Royal 9), ZE:A comes from JeA (제의) which is an abbreviation for Jegugui Aideul (제국의 아이들) or "Children of Empire". So ZE:A is only a shorthand. Their name is still "Children of Empire" like it says on the album cover. Also, their label obviously realized "Child Of Empire" was grammatically incorrect which is why they're now using "Children".

Actress Yuki Uchida (34) will star in her first mobile drama, being distributed on BeeTV next year. Titled "30 Haken Onna ga Shuushoku Suru Houhou," the series is set to begin on February 1.

Uchida plays a single woman around the age of 30. Looking to lift herself beyond temp work, she begins her search for regular employment, though she also finds herself dealing with the difficulties of looking for a marriage partner.

Uchida's supporting cast includes Kosuke Toyohara, Mari Nishio, Kenichi Sano, Maki Kubota, and Tetsu Watanabe. The series is planned for 12 ten-minute episodes.
